The long term ambition is to develop a regional astronomy & space science research, teaching and outreach hub in th whole of Africa. The workshop will be taught in English and consist of compact lecture series covering basics of astronomy.
The workshop aims at two (partially overlapping) audiences:
Registration for this workshop is open here. The program of activities is available here.
Dramatically increasing the local and regional outreach capacity would be a decisive outcome against which to measure the long lasting impact of this workshop. It will also be an opportunity for networking as well as to set a regional agenda towards the growth of astronomy for a better Life in Africa. The full draft program can be found here.
A parallel and minimally conflicting stream of activities will aim at more advanced students.
Mostly MSc and PhD students. More details on activities for this second stream are provided here.
Please, join in and/or blog about any meaningful way to make this initiative an additional success towards the ongoing scientific renaissance of Africa.
